What's Up With All the Photos?

I know many of you are wondering why my posts have been lacking in substance lately. I've been neglecting all of the blogs I write for lately. There are some things going on with me that I haven't been brave enough to share here yet. Partly because I'm a 'fraidy cat and partly because I feel like I'm whining whenever I complain about anything in my life. When other people share their troubles, I'm awed by their honesty and ability to open up and share their feelings. When I do it, I'm whining. I'm my harshest critic.

So until I ball up, I give you yet another photo series. This is another one from our trip to Yorktown with Lauren from Not Exactly A Princess, who has also been neglecting her blog lately. (No pressure, Lauren.)

How to Exhaust Three Toddlers in Two Hours:

Before

The task? To exhaust these children into compliant little Stepford tots.

The secret? Running, running, and more running.

Lauren engages in man-to-man defense.

Lauren quickly switches to a zone defense. Why? Because Lawyer Mama was too busy taking photos to mind the children.

Off they go.

After.

Mission complete.

  1. OK, first, you know I TOTALLY know about the being scared to share the big stuff. Do it when you're ready.

    Second, always love the pictures.

Third, my content and reading other people's stuff has taken a back seat lately as well because I have Christmas madness to contend with, so it's all good.

Fourth, I resorted to posting a video on mine today, talk about slacking!

  2. I'm here for you, any time, any way, public or private. Also, you aren't obligated to share...only if it will help you.

I enjoy the photos and adorable content right now. :)

And lastly, I love love love the exhaust them into good behavior mode of parenting. I learned that one at puppy kindergarten too.

  3. I'm the first one to let it all hang out. I think it is a defense mechanism. I admire your ability to keep private what you need to keep private. It shows strength. We're ready to listen when - and if - you are ready to share.

In the meantime, I hope your holidays are happy, healthy and blessed.

  4. As Queen of Whine, you have my permission to vent when ready.

Other than that, how are you on turning a kindergartener into a Stepford child? I'm willing to get him a plane ticket for experimentation purposes.

  5. I like these photo stories, well done .

When and if you decide to share, as you've seen, the blogging community really gathers together and locks arms. *smiles*

  6. You know I'm always willing to listen as we've talked about this a tiny bit IRL. It's NOT WHINING. It's real life and sometimes real life sucks. And real friends? Love everything about you. Hang in there.

  12. You have two wonderfully beautiful children. They grow up so fast, pictures are the only way to keep them this age.

  14. I'm the one who purges and then feels really badly about it later. Eh. It happens.

Write when you feel ready. In the meantime, email me if you want to get all snarky.

  15. Ditto to what everyone else is saying. Only share what you are comfortable with and WHEN you are comfortable with it.

The pictures are wonderful - thanks for sharing those. That's a big thing; sharing your darlings with us all!

  22. A commercial used to run over here they made me laugh every time I saw it: Tuy picks up his sister's kids to spend the afternoon with him. What does he do? They drive past a park, they all pile out of the car and RUN up the hill, then RUN back to the car, and he then drives them all to the next park, repeat running... repeat all afternoon. When he returns the exhausted wee ones to his sister, she says that she can't imagine what he does with them all day because they always come back absolutely wiped out!
